Clayton Cottage in Northumberland sits on the edge of the Cheviot Hills near Wooler and has the most fantastic unspoilt views. We welcome couples, friends or families with children of any age and have tried to ensure you will have everything you need for your self catering cottage holiday in picturesque Northumberland!

Situated in the tiny and quiet village of Howtel, near Milfield and Wooler, this beautifully restored Edwardian cottage in Northumberland is an ideal holiday base for resting or touring. There's beautiful countryside all around for local walking, cycling or fishing...and you are less than 30 minutes from many of Northumberland's beauty spots such as Bamburgh Castle with its wide golden beach or Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island.

Our holiday cottage sleeps up to five comfortably, with three upstairs bedrooms: One double, one twin and one small single room. All bed linen provided. The cottage has a good sized lounge with comfortable furniture, a real fire with all logs and coal included, TV, DVD, CD player, wireless broadband and telephone with honesty box. To see everything that's included click here.

Clayton Cottage is on a very quiet minor road, near Wooler in North Northumberland and also near to: Milfield, Branxton, Flodden Battlefield, Kelso, Etal, Ford, Cornhill on Tweed, Coldstream, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland Heritage Coast, Craster, Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Chillingham, Duns, Northumberland National Park, the Borders and the Cheviot Hills - which give you the fabulous views from our remote and quiet cottage. Edinburgh in Scotland is only an hour to the North and makes for a day trip by car or train from Berwick upon Tweed. Newcastle is only an hour to the South. Other Northumbrian places to visit are Alnwick and Cragside in Rothbury, about 40 minutes away. Fly fishing or spinning is popular in local rivers, with the River Till only 5 minutes away. A well stocked fishery is only 15 minutes away in Chatton, with 2 separate lakes and more planned.
